Hands and Feet of Asheville was founded in 2012 by Sarah Robinson Bryan, a Presbyterian Church (USA) Young Adult Volunteer alumna, who had a vision to create an opportunity for young adults like she had, to learn and grow through service right here in Asheville.

 

Since its creation, Hands and Feet has hosted more than 40 Fellows for an unparalleled year of personal, spiritual, and professional growth. With founding support and ongoing technical assistance from Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church in Asheville, Hands and Feet of Asheville began welcoming young adult Fellows in Fall of 2012. From 2015 to 2023, Hands and Feet hosted seven program years as an official Presbyterian Church (USA) Young Adult Volunteer program site.

 

In 2024, Hands and Feet went back to its roots, operating as an independent service year program. We are happy to be a member of the Young Adult Transformation Collective (YATC), an organization that supports the sustainability and central values of young adult service programs across the country.
